ABS-CBN homegrown talent Jason Abalos wowed everyone with his Best Actor acceptance speech during the Gawad Urian Awards last Wednesday, October 1. The young actor won for the indie film Endo where he starred opposite Ina Feleo. With this feather in his cap, Jason admitted that he now feels more pressure when it comes to his acting, which he takes as a good thing so as to keep him on his toes.
In an exclusive interview with Abs-cbn.com, Jason relived the moment on stage when he accepted his acting award. He said that his heartfelt thank you speech moved the audience because he really felt like thanking everyone who supported him as he made his way to the award. From his old manager to his peers to Judy Ann Santos, Jason left no one unacknowledged.
Whem asked which actor or actress would he like to work with, he replied, "Mahirap magsalita. Ako naman kahit sino e. Siguro si Judy Ann Santos ulit. Masarap siyang katrabaho.
Jason also confessed that he graduated early from teeny-bopper roles that he used to play in some of the TV shows. He shared that he wants to focus on more mature roles from now on. He revealed to us that the "pa-tweetums" roles bored him for two years. "Actually nainip ako. Yung dalawang taon akong nagpapa-tweetums, nagpapakilig-kilig.
Now that he has Pieta and Eva Fonda in the wings and a Urian trophy, all eyes are on Jason as he sets out to prove that he deserves the accolades that his peers have given him.
