Carmen Soo admits to getting culture shocked by the local media

Malaysian actress Carmen Soo confessed that the entertainment industry in the country has been a culture shock to her, mainly because of rumors that involved her in the Jericho Rosales-Heart Evangelista breakup. Carmen is Jericho’s leading lady in ABS-CBN’s newest drama series Kahit Isang Saglit.“ The entertainment industry here is a little bit of a culture shock for me because when I first came, little did I know about the news generated would be a little shock to me,” she explained.

Carmen was dragged in her co-star’s break-up with Hear Evangelista when she was rumored to be having a special ‘bond’ with Jericho during their shooting in Malaysia. Carmen has already refuted the allegations and she admitted that she’s still adjusting to the local media, especially during interviews.

She also divulged that the working system in the Philippines is different from Malaysia.
“From working, the hours are different because the shooting is for 24 hours here,” she said. “I think I’m getting toughened up. I think the style is different with what the people want to see here and what the directors look for in scenes compared to Malaysia.”
Nonetheless, the model said that she is learning a lot from her fellow actors, especially in honing her acting skills. “I’m surrounded by some of the best actors in the Philippines,” she happily shared. “I’m just absorbing and learning every single day, and that is an amazing experience itself.”

Carmen is known in her country Malaysia as a commercial model, stage and TV actress. She can speak Malay, Chinese and English fluently because of her Malaysian, Chinese and British descent.
