Why Sharon is very proud of KC

Why Sharon is very proud of KC

By Bernie Franco

Megastar Sharon Cuneta wanted only the best for her eldest daughter, KC Concepcion, the reason why she did not allow KC to enter show biz at an early age. She said that she wanted KC to finish her schooling first before she could make her show biz dream happen. "I told her ‘After school, you can do whatever you want,’" Sharon recalled. "One wish ko na tinupad niya at matino niyang tinupad."

In 2007, KC finished her Bachelor of Arts in International Corporate Communications with a minor in Theater Arts at the American University in Paris, France. Aside from fulfilling her mom’s wish to finish her studies, Sharon is happy to say that her daughter has grown up with a well-rounded personality. "Napakabuti ng pagkatao ng batang ‘yan, hindi porke’t anak ko siya. Pero ‘yung mga dinasal ko talagang mukhang okey siya."

Sharon feels that studying abroad did KC good. "Na-experience niya paano maging normal na tao hindi prinsesa. Hindi naman ‘yan umaarteng prinsesa dito, eh but at how she turned out, I’m proud of that. Walang binigay sa akin na sakit ng ulo at lumaki na hindi naiiskandalo." Although KC is highly identified with her mom, the Megastar believes that KC has worked hard to get to where she is now. "She’s made a name for herself na hindi ako kasama. I’m confident and at the same time I’m excited and a little nervous but all in all really happy and proud," Sharon said of KC.

Sharon takes pride in KC’s first movie, For The First Time, with Richard Gutierrez as her leading man. "As a first joint project ng GMA-7 at ABS-CBN na parang sila lang ang nakagawa n’on. In their own little way, Richard and KC have made a little bit of history."
