After his unforgettable win in PBB Teens Edition Plus, Robi Domingo didn’t expect to set foot on the Big Dome again and for a prestigious fashion show no less. The Bench Blackout experience felt surreal for a newbie like him who was instantly given a shot at stardom. "Hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala na rumampa ako sa Araneta tapos Bench pa yung sponsor mo," gushed the ex-teen housemate to ABS-CBN.com. Almost a month after the event, he still couldn’t believe that he was able to join the country’s finest celebrities in the catwalk. "Parang ‘di pa rin ako makapaniwala kasi aminado naman ako na wala akong katawan katulad ng maipapakita nila Diether Ocampo or Jake Cuenca," he he exclaimed. Unfortunately, he didn’t have the time to hit the gym like what he used to do when he was in 4th year high school.
ABS-CBN.com noted though that he’s blessed with more than enough good looks to compensate for his slim build. But the young star merely acknowledged this with a shy laugh. Though in fact, a lot of his avid supporters have almost died and gone to heaven when they saw his still photo on the Team Kapamilya Multiply Site. It had garnered the highest comments from online fans even if he was only sporting a preppy casual look. "Ang sarap ng pakiramdam," said Robi about the all-out support of his fans whom he considers as his new set of barkada, in a way. "Shocking siya, pero yun nga salamat sa kanila. Pero ayaw ko silang tawaging fans. Gusto ko silang tawaging friends. Kasi ‘pag fans may distance. Gusto ko close kami lahat," he sweetly added.
It’s really hard not to notice such a remarkable guy like Robi especially now that he’s a part of a top-rating series like My Girl. Some people are even saying that his acting chops are better than that of his ex-housemates Josef Elizalde and Nikki Uysiuseng. But ever the good boy type, Robi simply explained, "I just try to act organic and act normal sa harap ng cam. Pakapalan lang talaga ng mukha," he stressed. He also gave credit to the show’s applauded directors Erick Salud and Jerome Pobocan. "Ang galing kasi ng mga director namin. Tinuturuan nila kami habang nasa set kami." In return, Robi is open to further enhance his craft as a rising actor. "Sabi [nila direk] ‘wag daw mag-buckle and find our cameras lang. Yun. At kailanagin be organic." No doubt he’s ready to take on such challenges as he happily enthused, "Siyempre niyayakap ko na yung pagpasok ko [sa mundo ng showbiz]
