Comedian Pokwang will soon be heard on the big screens as she joins the cast of “Dayo,” the only children's animated film that is an official entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival this December.
The film is a Filipino full-feature animated film that is an all-digital production for kids.
Pokwang has voiced the animated character of a nanny.
In the film, the comedian is the nanny of a “manananggal”, a popular monster in Filipino folklore.
“Dayo” revolves around a boy named Bubuy who has to save his abducted grandparents who were brought to a strange land called Elementalia.
Elementalia is said to be the place of strange creatures like the “manananggal” and werewolves.
The film also features the voices of Laurice Guillen, Peque Gallaga, Nova Villa, Noel Trinidad and Michael V.
The musical scoring was conducted by Gerald Salonga, while the theme was performed by international artist Lea Salonga.
Pokwang said that she is thrilled and grateful for another blessing that she has received.
Aside from co-hosting "Wowowee," Pokwang is a regular cast member of "That's my Doc" every Saturday at 6 p.m. with actor Aga Muhlach. She is also busy doing shows in various cities in the country and Filipino communities abroad.
Pokwang or Marietta Subong in real life is a member of ABS CBN's Star Magic group of entertainers. She rose to fame after winning in ABS-CBN's "Clown in a Million."
