Exclusive: Sandara Park denies being offered My Girl role

By Patty Ramirez

Kung ako yun, ‘di na Pinoy version yun. Korean na ulit,” was SandaraPark’s reply to rumors that she had initially been offered to play the lead in the Filipino franchise of the Korean drama My Girl. “Nakaalis na [ng Pilipinas] ata ako bago pa nila (ABS-CBN) nakuha yun,” Sandara said with a smile. The former Star Circle Quest (SCQ) finalist recently flew in from Korea for a short vacation.

Rumors of the alleged My Girl offer may have stemmed from then constant comparisons to her and Kim Chiu. But Sandara was quick to say that she has no issues with the first Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Big Winner and that both of them are unique in their own ways.

Sandara, who returned to Korea yesterday, August 14, admitted that she does not know when she will return to the Philippines again. She also confessed that she watches her old shows and movies whenever she feels homesick for the Philippines. She made the most of her weeklong vacation by hanging out with her SCQ friends Roxanne Guinoo, Joross Gamboa, and Melissa Ricks, former ASAP Fanatic host Luis Manzano, old high school classmates, and some non-showbiz friends.

Sandara will resume training for management company YG Entertainment upon her return to Korea. She also hopes to star in a Koreanovela soon, and that ABS-CBN will get the rights to it so her Filipino fans can see her on TV once again.
