Alex Gonzaga's struggles with love

Alex Gonzaga's struggles with love

By Napoleon Quintos

Alex Gonzaga is better known by fans of hit teleserye My Girl as Jasmine’s best friend Christine, the funny but feisty lady who continuously struggles with love.In an exclusive interview, Alex shares to ABS-CBN.com how she, like her character Christine, is also dealing with issues about love.

Alex was once spotted going to the church with older sister Toni Gonzaga, Direk Paul Soriano, and another young non-showbiz guy rumored to be Alex’s boyfriend. But the bubbly-by-nature young actress clarifies that the guy is just a suitor.“Kilala siya ng mommy ko.Dati pang parang nanliligaw yun sa akin sa school simula first year college pa ko.Naging friend na rin ni Direk Paul.” she shares without revealing the guy’s name.

In spite of her pretty face and lovable personality, Alex is yet to have a boyfriend. The 20-year old actress says that her mother still has not given her the blessing to get into a relationship. But Alex has a different opinion about being a ‘single-since-birth’ girl “Hindi yata ako yung ligawing babae, hindi ko nga alam kung bakit, dahil ba maingay ako (laughs)?”She further adds that if she’s not interested in a guy, she is not the type who will waste time on casual text messages and hang out.

Although frequently surrounded by several friendly and gorgeous men in showbiz, Alex does not see herself getting into a relationship with a fellow celebrity.“Para sa akin kasi showbiz is for work, when you combine it with romance, baka magkaroon ng conflict.” she explains. At the moment, Alex is enjoying her work on My Girl as fans continuously love not only the story but also her colorful portrayal of Christine.
