Alessandra on network-switching: ‘Kailangan kong magtrabaho!’

By Bernie Franco

Actress Alessandra de Rossi clarified on The Buzz yesterday (August 17) that she had no exclusive contract with GMA-7 ever since, and that she informed the network’s management that she would be accepting a project from ABS-CBN. This comes as her response to allegations that she is being ungrateful for suddenly ‘jumping ship’ to ABS-CBN.

"Kasi hindi na ako puwedeng naka-stambay lang sa bahay. Kailangan kong magtrabaho," Alessandra reasoned out. "Sobra naman yung ingrata, ‘yung mga years na nasa GMA ako, naging very loyal ako at very grateful ako sa nagawa nila sa akin, sa career ko, sa bank account ko," she humored. "Kaya lang kailangan ko ring magtrabaho. Hindi ako puwedeng matengga dahil maraming nakaasa sa akin, meron din akong binabayarang bahay."

The actress also disproved rumors that her transfer has something to do with not wanting to work with actress Rhian Ramos, whom Alessandra had a rift in the past.

"That was more than a year ago, ‘di sana noon pa ko umalis. Nagkataon lang na dito nagkaroon ng magandang offer," she explained.

The morena actress also revealed that she will have a month-long appearance on the upcoming teleserye I Love Betty La Fea, and will be joining the cast of a future ABS-CBN teleserye. "Isang soap na magandang maganda na dramang drama na very challenging yung role," Alex said enthusiastically.

Alessandra was first launched in the entertainment industry when she was cast as one of the hosts of ABS-CBN’s youth-oriented show Cyberkada and later on was part of ABS-CBN Star Magic’s Star Circle Batch 6, which also included actresses Jodi Sta. Maria and Desiree del Valle.
