By Bernie Franco
Ex-Pinoy Big Brother teen housemate Aldred Gatchalian said that a lot of people told him that he stood a good chance of being part of the reality show’s Big Four had he not made a voluntary exit a week after entering the house. The young man landed roles in various ABS-CBN primetime shows like Crazy For Youand Ysabella. He was even chosen to sing the theme song of afternoon Sunday drama Your Song. Aldred’s primary objective for joining PBB was to help his family, and he did just that. “Sa pamilya ko marami akong naitulong. Napagawa namin yung bahay namin, nabili namin yung mga gamit na gusto namin. Nagkaroon kami ng kahit second-hand na van. Marami talagang nagbago, marami akong naitulong sa pamilya ko,” he said with pride.

He admitted that he misses attending regular school, but he cannot fully commit to it since he is also working on his acting career. “May mga nagtatanong, ‘Bakit hindi mo tinuloy yung pag-aaral mo,
Aldred also shared that living up to his reputation of being a good son is a lot of pressure. He confessed that he tries his best not to disappoint people, but he has also learned not to be too hard on himself. “Parang ang hirap magkamali,” he revealed. “Pero hindi pa rin maiiwasan na magkakamali. Okey lang. Ganun naman talaga eh, walang perpektong tao.”
Aside from school work, Aldred is also busy taping for ABS-CBN’s newest soap Iisa Pa Lamang as Matt Evan’s best bud.
