Piolo: ‘Never kaming nagkaroon ng competition ni Angel'

Piolo: ‘Never kaming nagkaroon ng competition ni Angel'

By MJ Felipe

As ABS-CBN's primetime soap Lobo makes its curtain call this Friday, July 11, its stars can't seem to express their overwhelming happiness and contentment going into the last stretch of what was has been tagged as the soap with the biggest budget on the Kapamilya network.

"Finally, it's almost over. It's a relief, but it’s also sad. After so many months, patapos na. I’m happy because it turned out well, it turned out successful. Masaya ako dahil tinanggap yung team up namin ni Angel (Locsin)," shares male lead Piolo Pascual. "I can say by far this is the most difficult soap I have ever done. It's very challenging, physically, and mentally but definitely rewarding."

But as the series draws to a close, rumors about tension between Piolo and Angel have been cropping up, supposedly over star status issues. "Never. There is no such thing. We're always equal. Never kaming nagkaroon ng competition ni Angel. We support each other," sys Piolo. Angel laughs off the rumor, saying she’d rather focus on the good things coming her way than negative ideas.

While Lobo had its last taping day on July 3, Piolo and Angel won’t have much time for a break before they have to start working on their next joint project, a movie for Star Cinema. Piolo had to fly to France to attend the screening of Dekada ’70 at the Paris Cinema International Filmfest, but he’ll soon be working on his new film.

"We start shooting in July. As soon as I get back from Paris, I start na with my training in horseback riding. Then we fly to Bukidnon para mag-shoot. Then for the whole month of August we’ll be in Australia. I'm so excited to move on and do something new with Angel. Siyempre bagong medium na naman, pelikula. It's her first movie with Star Cinema, kaya naman it's very much anticipated."

Catch the final episodes of Lobo on ABS-CBN's Primetime Bida block, after The Singing Bee.
